Fire System Inspection & Testing   3

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for fire system inspection and testing services at the VA Illiana Health Care System. The goal of the contract is to ensure compliance with fire safety standards and maintain operational readiness of fire protection systems across multiple buildings within the facility.

Work Details
The contractor will provide trained technicians to perform the following tasks:

1. Test all facets of the Simplex 4100u Central fire alarm system and connected devices across specified buildings, providing documentation of results.

2. Conduct inspections and tests on Fire and Smoke Dampers by certified technicians, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards.

3. Perform inspections of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, including annual wet pipe sprinkler tests, semi-annual visual tests, and quarterly service checks as per NFPA guidelines.

4. Conduct annual dry pipe sprinkler tests and inspections, including necessary visual inspections and operational checks.

5. Execute five-year standpipe flow and hydrostatic tests in accordance with NFPA standards.

6. Perform semi-annual VRLA battery/charger inspections, documenting temperature, voltage, and load test results as required by NFPA regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on May 15, 2026, and will continue for a base period of one year with options for additional years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the VA Illiana Healthcare System located at 1900 East Main Street, Danville, IL 61832.
