Fire Extinguisher Safety (Monthly and Annual) Inspections

Background
The solicitation is for fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance services for the Department of Veterans Affairs San Francisco Health Care System (VASFHCS) located in San Francisco, California. The resulting contract will be a fixed-price for a base period of one year and four one-year option periods.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide services for fire extinguisher include monthly and annual maintenance of fire extinguishers as well as conducting routine inspections and testing such as monthly inspections, annual inspections, and periodic hydrostatic tests. The contractor will conduct onsite monthly inspections, annual inspections at various locations, provide backup fire extinguishers when necessary, and coordinate inspections with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) two weeks prior to inspection and/or testing.

The contractor will also be responsible for identifying different types of extinguishers by type and size, creating an inventory, providing backup fire extinguishers when necessary, and maintaining a written inventory record by specific location. The contractor will also be required to provide spare fire extinguishers on-site in emergency situations.
