GUMO Farrier Services

Background
The National Park Service (NPS) is soliciting quotes for Farrier Services at Guadalupe Mountains National Park (GUMO). The requirement is a 100% total small business set-aside. The anticipated approximate award date is August 1st, 2024. The contractor is required to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to provide Farrier Services at Guadalupe Mountains NP.

Work Details
The Farrier Services will be acquired using a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) and are required approximately every 8 weeks. The livestock inventory at Guadalupe Mountains National Park ranges from four to ten mules and horses, employed in various maintenance and operations activities. The services required include shoeing, shoe pulling and trimming, corrective shoeing, shoe shaping and construction, trimmings, instruction to NPS Staff of first-aid or well-care techniques, and record maintenance as necessary to support this contract. All work and scheduling shall be scheduled/authorized by the GUMO Facility Manager as the designated NPS Representative (COR) or Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). The service location will be at the GUMO Mule Barn located at Park Headquarters in Salt Flat, TX.

Period of Performance
The contract will be a 5-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Shoeing, Trimming, and Corrective Shoeing as needed for up to 10 mules and horses annually.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the GUMO Mule Barn located at Park Headquarters in Salt Flat, TX.
