Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office is issuing a contract for maintenance dredging along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) from Freeport to Matagorda Bay, covering Brazoria, Matagorda, and Calhoun Counties in Texas.

This project aims to maintain navigational depths and support the mission of ensuring safe and efficient waterway transportation.

Work Details
The contract involves maintenance dredging of approximately 1.5 million cubic yards (CY) of material from the GIWW Freeport to Matagorda reach.

The work will include varying advanced maintenance depths with material placement across upland, semi-confined, and open water areas along the GIWW. Additionally, dredging at the intersection of GIWW and Caney Creek will incorporate beneficial use beach placement.

The completion time for this project is estimated at 190 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is acknowledged. Liquidated damages will apply for delays beyond this timeframe.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence within 10 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is acknowledged and is estimated to be completed within 190 calendar days thereafter.
