Guatemala - Bathroom Repairs at Official Residence

Background
The US Embassy in Guatemala is seeking professional services for the renovation of full bathrooms at one of its Official Residences. This project aims to replace all existing finishes, fixtures, furniture, and associated mechanical and electrical components to restore functionality and enhance durability within the facility.

Work Details
The contractor will perform complete demolition and site preparation activities, including the removal and proper disposal of existing toilets, sinks, floor finishes, and wall tiles. Following demolition, the contractor will supply and install new standard toilets with all required accessories and new shut-off valves.

A new pedestal-mounted or cabinet-mounted sink will be installed, including faucet, mixer, siphon, push-up drain, and all related plumbing connections. Floor preparation will include surface leveling and installation of a waterproofing membrane. The contractor will supply and install ceramic or porcelain floor tiles with adhesive, grout, and finishing details.

Wall tile installation will cover all bathroom walls up to ceiling height. The scope includes fabrication and installation of custom bathroom furniture made from wood or waterproof MDF with drawers/shelving as needed. Plumbing systems may need adjustments for new fixture locations.

Electrical work includes replacing lighting fixtures, switches, and outlets to match the renovated layout. Ceiling and door surfaces will be painted with materials suitable for humid environments. Final cleaning of the renovated area is required to ensure it is fully operational and ready for use.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 5 calendar days after receiving the award notice to proceed and complete it within 35 calendar days.
