The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC) is a mixed-use public federal building with various responsibilities, including managing public areas, private tenants, event spaces, food court, retail, and parking garage. The ITCM must generate enough revenue to be financially self-sustaining as per Congressional requirements and goals. The specifications include the Reagan Building sq ft of 3.1 million and ITC sq ft of 1.2 million, among other details.

The areas of responsibility cover international trade promotion, conference center support, parking garage operation, construction management, licensing, marketing, security-related services, information technology and electronic systems, budget and finance, facilities maintenance services, miscellaneous program support, and activation.
