Description

The Grays Harbor and Chehalis River Federal Navigation Channel is located in Grays Harbor
County on the southwest coast of Washington State. The navigation channel traverses the harbor to
provide safe navigation and wide turning areas for large ships while they traverse Grays Harbor from
the Pacific Ocean to the Port of Grays Harbor and local facilities at the cities of Aberdeen, Hoquiam,
and Cosmopolis. This single contract for the period of 16 July 2023 through 14 February 2026,
inclusive of options, would require the removal of about 1 million cubic yards (CY) of accumulated
sediment from the navigation channel in each of three dredging windows, specifically from the inner
harbor reaches (middle of the harbor up to just upstream of the main Port terminals in Aberdeen,
WA). Dredging will be accomplished by a mechanical clamshell dredge and placed at designated
open water placement sites using bottom dump barges. Dredging will occur every year within the
approved Environmental In-Water Work windows of 16 July through 14 February of any given year,
with the exception of a period in which the channels will be closed for Tribal fishing starting between
the end of Aug and 30 Sep through 30 November of any given year. Dredged material placement
shall be at the South Jetty Placement site (required site from 16 Jul through 1 Oct) and Pt. Chehalis
Placement Site (1 Oct through 14 February).
The Period of Performance for this effort is a 12-month base year + two (2) 12 month-option
years.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
