GPO Fire Door Inspection Services

Background
The Government Publishing Office (GPO) is seeking a qualified contractor to perform annual inspections of fire-rated door assemblies in accordance with NFPA 80.

This contract aims to ensure the safety and compliance of fire doors at the GPO Headquarters located at 732 North Capitol St NW, Washington, D.C. The goal is to monitor and maintain fire doors to ensure proper functionality and adherence to safety codes.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks:
1. Conduct a complete, field-verified fire door assessment for GPO Headquarters.
2. Identify all deficiencies affecting fire-rating or life safety compliance.
3. Provide repair or replacement recommendations with Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates to support GPO capital planning.
4. Develop a comprehensive Fire Door Detail Report.

The contractor must also comply with applicable codes and standards including NFPA 80, NFPA 101, International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and local construction codes. Specific tasks include:
- Submit a Work Plan covering assessment methodology, inspection checklist, scheduling, and photo documentation within 10 days of Notice to Proceed (NTP).
- Conduct inspections for self-closing and positive latching function, door hardware completeness, vision light glazing compliance, smoke seal conditions, and evidence of unlisted modifications.
- Create a Fire Door inventory and deficiency matrix documenting all findings within 90 days of NTP.
- Notify the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) of any life safety deficiencies as required by NFPA 101.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of corporate experience performing similar services for government or commercial clients. Proposals must include qualified key personnel with relevant experience and certifications related to fire door assessments and repairs.
