GPO Electrical Panel Assessment

Background
The U.S Government Printing Office (GPO) provides publishing and dissemination services for the official and authentic government publications to Congress, Federal agencies, Federal depository libraries, and the American public. The intention of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to seek a firm that can conduct a complete Industrial comprehensive assessment of all old Electrical Panels in the four GPO buildings (A, B, C, and D) with gross floor area of 1,419,507 SF. The firm will assess the existing power system including Main Distribution Panel (MDP), Panels, Sub-Panels that currently service for, and sensing by a Licensed Fire Protection Engineer that will seek full compliance to the applicable NFPA codes and standards.

Work Details
The potential firm shall provide all necessary services to identify all life safety deficiencies in all four GPO buildings. A licensed Electrical Engineer is required to review and confirm the contractor’s results and reports.

The Contractor shall perform an overall assessment of the electrical panels of GPO buildings according to the latest editions of the National Fire Protection Association. The work includes tasks such as reviewing available drawings provided by GPO, investigating existing conditions, identifying required main electrical distribution systems conductors over 40 years old, inspecting switchgear and transformers, generating ARC FLASH study and infer-red study reports, providing cost estimates for necessary improvements and replacements, coordinating work with GPO Security Services, Facilities Division, and Engineering Division to minimize disruption, delivering electronic and hard copies of assessment report and cost proposal.
