Government Publishing Office (GPO) Building Information Model (BIM)   4

Background
The United States Government Publishing Office (GPO) is located at 732 North Capitol Street NW, Washington, DC 20401. GPO provides publishing and dissemination services for official and authentic government publications to Congress, Federal Agencies, Federal Depository Libraries, and the American Public.

The GPO seeks proposals from qualified firms to create an as-built architectural 3D model, also known as a Building Information Model (BIM), of the entire Washington, DC GPO campus, which includes Buildings A, B, C, and D with an approximate gross area of 1,500,000 square feet.

Work Details
The contractor will develop a comprehensive as-built BIM model that encompasses architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), life safety components, major equipment, energy modeling, and space management information. Specific tasks include:
- Conducting initial site assessments to gather necessary data.
- Developing a scanning plan detailing equipment and methods.
- Performing on-site scanning according to the approved plan.
- Creating a detailed BIM model that includes:
- Architectural elements like walls, floors, ceilings with accurate dimensions.
- Structural elements including exposed beams and columns.
- Life safety components such as fire suppression systems.
- MEP systems with visible piping and electrical conduits.
- Integrating non-geometric data such as thermal properties and asset management data into the model.
- Providing training for utilizing and managing the BIM model.

Period of Performance
All work shall be completed within eighteen (18) months from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) after award.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the GPO campus located in Washington, DC.
