Golf Course/Pedestrian Walkway Bridge

Background
The contract is issued by the government for the removal and replacement of existing golf cart and pedestrian bridges at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Lackland and JBSA Chapman Training Annex. The goal is to ensure the construction of structurally sound pre-fabricated bridges that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and facilitate safe conveyance for pedestrians and golf carts.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all management, tools, equipment, and labor necessary for the following tasks:

1. Remove and haul off-site existing bridge platforms; prepare concrete abutments for new installations; install concrete approaches as needed for ADA compliance; perform necessary landscape shoring and retaining wall block installation.

2. Construct pre-fabricated bridge structures made of steel with a corrosion-resistant powder finish, ensuring a minimum width of 8 feet, railings at least 42 inches high at Site A and 50 inches high at Site B, and a load capacity of at least 8 tons.

3. Use pressure-treated Douglas Fir wood for bridge decking to resist moisture, fungal decay, and insects.

4. Clean up the worksite daily, avoiding damage to existing buildings, equipment, or vegetation, and restore the site to its original condition after work completion. The contractor must also provide all necessary equipment in good operable condition, maintain adequate quantities of equipment to fulfill contract requirements, develop a quality control program to ensure service performance meets standards, and comply with safety regulations.
