GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL CEMETERY- Replace Irrigation System   2

Background
The Golden Gate National Cemetery, part of the National Cemetery Administration, is seeking to replace the irrigation system on Mound Hill. The mission of the National Cemetery Administration is to honor veterans with a final resting place and lasting memorials that commemorate their service. This contract aims to ensure that the cemetery's maintenance and operational procedures reflect the nation's respect for those interred there.

Work Details
The contractor must provide all personnel, management, supplies, transportation, equipment, and supervision necessary to renovate the existing irrigation system on Mound Hill. The work includes: turf irrigation and related restoration work such as turf replacement by sod, turf establishment, turf warranty, and headstone cleaning.

Specific tasks include: selective replacement of remote control valve assemblies, lateral lines, and sprinkler head assemblies; site preparation involving cutting and removal of existing sod; trenching and backfill; sod replacement over trenches; cleaning of headstones soiled by contractor activities; and realignment of headstones moved out of alignment. The contractor must also protect existing irrigation systems unless otherwise noted for demolition. Any damage caused must be repaired at no additional cost. Temporary adjustments to the irrigation system may be required during construction activities.
