GOGA 212511D Repair West Wing of Fort Mason, Building 201, for Seismic Strength   4

Background
The United States Department of the Interior National Park Service, Denver Service Center, is seeking market research for the GOGA 212511D project, which involves the repair and seismic strengthening of the West Wing of Fort Mason Building 201. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge regarding the type of interested businesses and their qualifications. The NPS anticipates conducting a competitive acquisition for this requirement, and the amount of interest will determine the possibility of a small business or other socio-economical small business set-aside for the solicitation.

Work Details
The project involves strengthening critical structural components of the Fort Mason Building 201 Headquarters Building for Golden Gate NRA. The improvements will bring the building into compliance with current seismic codes. This phase will install new steel moment frames within the core of the wing, install plywood shear panels on selected areas of the exterior walls, add and/or strengthen footings, improve connections between existing gravity members, and strengthen floor and roof diaphragms.
The project will address seismic resiliency of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in their respective wings.
The construction site is urban with limited staging located immediately adjacent to the existing building. The Park will remain open during construction, thus contract activities and logistics must be structured and scheduled to minimize visitor impact.
The site requires protective measures to ensure the surrounding area remains undisturbed.
The anticipated period of performance is 450 calendar days including any potential weather shutdown.
