Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District is issuing this contract for dredging operations along the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) from Freeport to Matagorda Bay, covering Brazoria, Matagorda, and Calhoun Counties in Texas.

The mission of the USACE is to maintain navigable waterways for commercial shipping and other waterborne activities. The goal of this contract is to remove critical shoals that hinder navigation, ensuring safe and efficient passage for vessels.

Work Details
The contractor will perform dredging operations to remove shoals from the GIWW, which are critical for maintaining navigable depths. Key tasks include:

- Conducting weekly progress meetings to review project status;
- Preparing Time Impact Analyses for any delays or changes;
- Justifying delays with appropriate documentation;
- Managing changes that do not cause delays through fragnet updates;
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols including radio communication requirements.

The contractor must also address unanticipated dredging requirements that may arise during the contract period. Additionally, if the quantity of material removed exceeds estimated quantities, time extensions will be granted at a specified rate. The contractor is responsible for ensuring all equipment meets regulatory standards and maintaining communication with vessels in the area.
