1. The purpose of amendment 0003 to RFP SPRDL1-22-R-0020 is to update the requirements, extend the closing date, and update terms and conditions of the RFP.

2. The requirements of this RFP are being updated from a 5-Year Long Term Contract to a Stand Alone Base Year with 100% Option Year.

3. The closing date is extended from 25 Oct 2022 to 31 Oct 2022.

4. The new closing date for this solicitation is 31 Oct 2022 at 11:30 PM EST.

5. All other terms and conditions of the basic contract remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

Requirements Description:

The Generator, Container is a kit that consists of the Generator and its storage case. The Generator (Military Part Number: 12591270) is a substantial cost of the Generator, Container (Military Part Number 57K7328) which is the item being procured. The US Government does not have proprietary rights to the detailed drawings to manufacture this generator as the Generator is source controlled to United Technologies Corporation Aerospace Systems (UTAS); CAGE: 99167.

The generator converts engine mechanical power into electrical power to supply the M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tank electrical system. This generator is an engine oil-cooled, electrically excited, wound field machine that is attached to the transmissions power take-off drive. It is a critical item of the M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tank power and electrical system and shall meet the requirements specific to its intended function in accordance with Source Control Drawing 12591270. It is imperative for the procuring activity to ensure, at the time of contract award, this product meets and demonstrates compliance to established performance, design, test, manufacture, and acceptance requirements as specified in spec SC-SA20460B. This product is a survivability item and it's critical for the soldiers' safety.

Currently, UTAS is the only approved source to make this item for the United States Government. UTAS is the sole owner of the build to print technical data package (TDP).
