The FBI is seeking an individual first aid kit (GAP IFAK) to be issued to personnel of the Department of Justice. The GAP IFAK will be mounted to personally worn equipment used by personnel on a daily basis in the event of a life-threatening injury. The GAP IFAK is to be worn on the Molle system of body armor or be affixed to the wearer's belt. Law enforcement officers frequently work in the confined spaces of vehicles and residential properties yet have no less need for rapid access to life-saving medical equipment. As such, it is critical the GAP IFAK wear as close to the body as possible while containing the items required to manage the Committee for Tactical Combat Casualty Care identified preventable causes of death.
