GAOA CUSTER GALLATIN NATIONAL FOREST - Main Fork Rock Creek Road #2421 Reconstruction Project   3

Background
The solicitation is for the GAOA Custer Gallatin National Forest - Main Fork Rock Creek Road #2421 Reconstruction Project. The project is located in the Beartooth Ranger District, Custer National Forest near Red Lodge, Montana. The project involves reconditioning and surfacing approximately 4.27 miles of the Main Fork Rock Creek Road #2421, including trailheads, turnouts, and road and camp approaches along the roadway starting at MP 4.36 to the terminus at Glacier Lake Trailhead.

The work also includes culvert removal and replacement, traffic control, boulder rock placement at staked locations along the entire length of the road, and reconditioning and surfacing of the trailhead and access at M-K Campground.

Work Details
The construction tasks include reconditioning and surfacing approximately 4.27 miles of the Main Fork Rock Creek Road #2421, culvert removal and replacement, traffic control, boulder rock placement at staked locations along the entire length of the road, reconditioning and surfacing of the trailhead and access at M-K Campground, construction of a parking area and access near the intersection of #2421 Main Fork Rock Creek and #2004 Hell Roaring Road, placing aggregate aprons at all road and camp sites, constructing a truck turn around between at the upper end of the road at an approved location by the CO, placing aggregate surface course along the first mile of the #2421 Main Fork Rock Creek Road starting at the intersection with Road #2004.

The work also involves placing boulders to protect resources at many dispersed sites located along the entire length of the #2421 Main Fork Rock Creek Road.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is 60 calendar days with an estimated start date in June 2022.

The construction projects will be performed on Main Fork Rock Creek Road #2421 in the Beartooth Ranger District, Custer National Forest near Red Lodge, Montana.
