Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Galveston District is issuing this solicitation for an unrestricted procurement for fiscal year 2025. The contract aims to perform hopper dredging in the Galveston Entrance Channel and Houston Ship Channel, specifically from Bolivar to Redfish, located in Galveston and Chambers County, Texas.

The mission of the USACE is to provide vital public engineering services in peace and war to strengthen the nation’s security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters.

Work Details
The scope of work includes various dredging tasks as outlined below:
1. Mobilization and Demobilization (1 JB SUM)
2. Dredging - Galveston Entrance Channel (Section Nos. 1-4) - 455,000 CY
3. Dredging - Galveston Harbor (Section Nos. 5-7) - 801,000 CY
4. Dredging - Houston Ship Channel (Section Nos. 8-11) - 115,000 CY
5. Monitor Surveys - ODMDS No. 1 (1 JB SUM)
6. Sea Turtle Protection (Sections Nos. 1-11) (1 JB SUM)
7. Optional tasks include additional dredging in the Galveston Extended Entrance Channel and various environmental protection measures such as sea turtle monitoring and endangered species monitoring.
8. The total estimated cost for Schedule No. 1 is $14,104,408 with additional options bringing the total potential contract value up to $30,208,388.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a specified period following the award date, which is anticipated to be shortly after the bid opening on January 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed in Galveston and Chambers County, Texas.
