Description

Work to be performed by the Contractor:

Remove and dispose of the existing chiller. Contractor shall reclaim approximately 650 lbs of R-134A refrigerant using government provided cylinders, and turn over to the government. Provide credit for salvage scrap weight of the old chiller.

Provide a new chiller, scroll type with variable volume ratio. EER rating minimum 15.8-16.5. EER Full Load 9.7-10.4. Performance meeting ASHRAE 90.1-2016 Standards. Minimum 128 tons. Chiller must have two independent circuits, each with its own compressor. Chiller must meet the design conditions shown on Sheet M-003, Attachment 2. Refrigerant to be R-454B. New chiller shall fit on existing slab. Provide factory authorized start-up and test and balance.

Provide electrical service from the existing disconnect to the new chiller. Re-use existing conduit to the extent possible. Provide new rigid conduit as needed, mounted to the brick wall and concrete slab by uni-strut. Flex conduit may be used to transition across the gravel yard, routed perpendicular to the brick wall and slab at ground level. Provide new electrical wire. Existing wire may be re-used if long enough. No splicing permitted. Connect existing ground wire to new chiller.

Replace in kind 4-each wafer butterfly valves at the bypass tee on the chill water piping, shown in Figure 10, Attachment 1. Provide new chill water piping from the bypass tee to the new chiller. New chill water piping shall be welded connections. Provide new insulation and jacketing for new work and existing materials damaged by new work.

Connect new chiller to existing controls system. Provide points for Chiller Enable and Chiller Alarm as shown on Sheet M-407, Attachment 2. Include authorized start-up and testing. Test shall include emergency shut down switch.
