FY26 Murphysboro Dispatch HVAC Replacement

Background
The USDA Forest Service is issuing this Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the replacement of HVAC systems at the Murphysboro Work Center located in the Shawnee National Forest. The goal of this contract is to ensure efficient heating and cooling systems are installed to meet current standards and provide reliable service.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all materials, supplies, and labor necessary to remove, dispose of, and replace one (1) Gas Furnace and two (2) Air Conditioning Units. Specific tasks include:

1. Replacement of Gas Furnace & A/C:
- Equipment installation, high and low voltage electrical connections to new equipment, duct adaptations, flue adaptations, flushing refrigerant lines, copper refrigerant line adaptations, and condensate drain materials.
- Minimum system specifications include a 3 1/2 Ton A/C with 14 SEER2 efficiency rating using R-454B refrigerant, a 3 1/2 Ton evaporator coil, a 90,000 BTU gas furnace with 80% AFUE efficiency rating, and warranties of at least 10 years on parts and 20 years on the heat exchanger.

2. Replacement of A/C system:
- Installation of a new indoor evaporator coil and outdoor condenser, refrigerant line set copper adaptations, flushing underground refrigerant lines, duct adaptations, condensate drain materials while keeping the existing gas furnace in place.
- Minimum A/C specifications include a 3 1/2 Ton A/C with 14 SEER2 efficiency rating using R-454B refrigerant and a 3 1/2 Ton evaporator coil with TXV matching the width of the furnace. Warranty must be at least 10 years on parts.

All work must comply with current building, electrical, plumbing, and gas codes. The contractor is responsible for daily cleanup of the worksite and must provide proof of proper disposal when requesting payment.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed within a timeframe that allows for completion within 90 days after award.

Place of Performance
Murphysboro Work Center, Shawnee National Forest, Jackson County, Illinois.

Bidder Requirements
This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns. Bidders must demonstrate their ability to meet technical requirements outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW), including proof of relevant experience in HVAC installation. Additionally, bidders should provide evidence of compliance with local codes and standards.
