PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT: This announcement constitutes a pre-solicitation announcement of a proposed contract action pursuant to FAR 5.204. This is not a solicitation. No response is requested at this time. A formal solicitation will follow this announcement with full details, including a response deadline, the complete price proposal schedule, the construction plans & specifications, instructions to offerors, and the evaluation factors/basis for award.

PLANNED SOLICITATION: The final Solicitation for this project will be announced anytime between 15 and 30 days after the posting of this pre-solicitation. The contract type will be firm-fixed-price

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

The work consists of maintenance dredging approximately 3,241,000 (BASE 1,167,000) cubic yards of unclassified material from Charleston Upper Harbor, Joint Base Charleston, TC Dock, MARADS Piers S,T,U and USCG Pier P, Charleston and Berkeley Counties, South Carolina.

Material dredged from Charleston Upper Harbor, MARADS Piers S, T, & U, and USCG Pier P shall be placed in the Clouter Creek Placement Area - South Cell.

Material Dredged from Joint Base Charleston Channel shall be placed in the Joint Base Charleston Placement Area.

Material Dredged from TC Dock shall be placed in the Clouter Creek Placement Area - South Cell or Joint Base Charleston Placement Area.

The work includes complying with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Protection Act.

MAGNITUDE OF WORK: ESTIMATED BETWEEN $10,000,000 to $25,000,000

This contract will be solicited as a Total Small Business Set-Aside.

The contractor must be registered in WWW.SAM.GOV prior to award of the solicitation.
