FY18-22 Surface Navy Laser Weapon System (SNLWS) Increment 1 Development with Production Options   4

SNLWS will leverage proven mature technology to field two test units as quickly and affordably as possible. Options will be available for additional production units. SNLWS is envisioned as providing increased self-defense, area defense, and Counter-ISR capabilities, providing deep magazine capacity, and significantly decreasing the cost per engagement for low- to mid-end land, asymmetric surface and air threats.

The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept, proposals as a result of this synopsis. If a solicitation is issued in the future, it will be announced via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and interested parties must comply with that announcement. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any questions submitted or information provided as a result of this notice. This is not a RFP or a promise to issue a RFP and this information is subject to modification and in no way binds the Government to award a contract.

IMPORTANT: In order to be considered for contract award, each company must be able to receive classified documents up to the SECRET level. Therefore, prime contractors interested in bidding under any subsequent solicitation must be able to receive classified documents up to the SECRET level and must be a United States (U.S.) company or an independent U.S. subsidiary. Offerors must be a United States (US) company or an independent US subsidiary, although foreign contractors may act as subcontractors to U.S. prime contractors. The export of defense articles, defense services, and related technical data is subject to the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and requires the issuance of an export license by the U.S. Department of State.
