Background
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) is seeking to develop high-risk, high-reward technologies that enable revolutionary advances in materials, devices, and systems. DARPA announced the Microsystems Exploration program to capitalize rapidly on new opportunities with smaller, targeted investments. The program focuses on technical domains important to MTO’s mission, including localized processing, spectrum dominance, Microsystems manufacture, and disruptive microsystem applications in command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR), electronic warfare and directed energy.

Work Details
The Veloci-RapTOR project will explore whether a force-based measurement consistent with velocity extraction and signal isolation is achievable. The goal of the project is to develop force-transduction metrics and methods overcoming the research challenges associated with velocity extraction. This project is intended to be a fundamental research effort with a duration of 24-months comprising a single phase.
