Description

The 42d Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB, AL is seeking information from industry to assist in finalizing the acquisition strategy for FUSiON HD 8200 Scanners that is designed for digitizing up to 5,000 pages per day and 25,000 pages per week within mission-critical environments, to be able to meet the mission requirements, and multi-shift operations in accordance with the attached DRAFT Statement of Requirements (SOR) (see Attachment 1). The Government is seeking information from industry to assist in determining what types of products and capabilities are available in the market for this type of requirement outlined in the attached DRAFT SOR.

NOTES OF IMPORTANCE:

  1. A solicitation does not exist for this requirement. This is only a sources sought synopsis, so please do not submit quotes. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought.
  2. If the Government decides to pursue a solicitation, portions of your responses to this sources sought may be incorporated into the final solicitation. Respondents are discouraged from submitting any information deemed competition-sensitive or proprietary.
  3. Respondents will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred in responding to this source sought. Information submitted will not be returned to the respective respondents.
  4. Oral submissions of information will not be considered in response to this source sought.

To assist the Government in developing a potential acquisition strategy, please provide the following information:

  1. GENERAL INFORMATON:

Draft Statement of Requirements (SOR)

Background
The 42d Contracting Squadron at Maxwell AFB, AL is seeking industry input to finalize the acquisition strategy for FUSiON HD 8200 Scanners. These scanners are intended for digitizing high volumes of documents in mission-critical environments, with a capacity of up to 5,000 pages per day and 25,000 pages per week. The goal is to ensure the preservation and access to digital historical records of the Air Force, benefiting researchers and historians.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a FUSiON HD 8200 Scanner that meets or exceeds specific performance and technical requirements:
1. Quality: The scanner must be industrial-grade for high-volume document digitization, with features such as an airflow system to protect electronics from dust, an open track design for better handling, and a feeder capacity of over 1500 sheets.

2. Performance: It should operate at a base speed of 321 pages per minute and reach up to 474 pages per minute, with a runout pocket for 1000 pages.

3. Image Processing: Equipped with front and rear Charge-Couple Device cameras capable of 600 DPI optical resolution and OCR capabilities for improved accuracy.

4. System Software: Must include Capture Suite software for analytics and quality control, capable of outputting images in TIFF and PDF formats.

5. Delivery Requirements: The system must be delivered to the Air Force Historical Research Agency at Maxwell AFB, including placement inside the facility.

6. Installation Requirements: Full on-site installation is required, including setup and testing of all components.
