This requirement is to empty and clean the inside of the PORT (FWD) and STBD (AFT) Engineered Safeguards Diesel-Generator Fuel Oil Storage Tanks (EDO Fuel Tanks) in accordance with UIPI 0176-456 and local procedures. Tank shall be clean to a degree that allows safe entry into tank and inspections can be completed. Tanks need to be completed one at a time in lieu of simultaneously.

Background
The Norfolk Naval Shipyard is issuing this requirement for the cleaning of the Engineered Safeguards Diesel-Generator Fuel Oil Storage Tanks (EDO Fuel Tanks) on a Moored Training Ship (MTS) Submarine.

The goal of this contract is to ensure that the tanks are emptied and cleaned to a degree that allows for safe entry and inspections, in accordance with UIPI 0176-456 and local procedures.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Emptying and cleaning the inside of the PORT (FWD) and STBD (AFT) EDO Fuel Tanks.
2. Ensuring that each tank is cleaned to a degree that allows safe entry for inspections.
3. Performing the cleaning of tanks one at a time rather than simultaneously.
4. Providing gas-free services as required for work involving NNSY.
5. Assigning a Tank Area Manager (TAM) for work involving EDO Fuel Tanks.
6. Notifying NNSY Technical Points of Contact (TPOCs) and/or Representatives (CORs) prior to starting work on HEC scope, and informing them of any changes or deviations in the initial scope.
