Ft Logan National Cemetery Tree Maintenance

Background
The Department of Veteran Affairs, National Cemetery Administration intends to award a firm, fixed price contract for tree maintenance services at Fort Logan National Cemetery. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper maintenance and safety of trees within the cemetery grounds, which is essential for maintaining the aesthetic and operational integrity of this significant site.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary for tree maintenance services including: tree removal, stump removal, pruning, trimming, cabling, cavity repair, root pruning, and disposal of resulting waste and debris. Specific tasks include: removing six (6) medium trees; removing six (6) medium tree stumps; performing deadwood pruning on one (1) large tree; removing nine (9) large trees; and removing one (1) large tree stump. A Certified Arborist must oversee the work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period not exceeding sixty (60) calendar days from the award date or notice to proceed.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a Certified Arborist who is certified by the International Society of Arboriculture or an equivalent certifying agency. The Certified Arborist must have at least three (3) years of experience supervising commercial tree maintenance operations that include removal, trimming, and stump removal in commercial or public sites. Any changes to the Certified Arborist must be approved at least ten (10) business days prior to any work.

This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent based on prior VA National Cemetery Administration tree maintenance awards at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Watanabe Enterprises previously performed “TREE MAINTENANCE SERVICES - FT LOGAN NATIONAL CEMETERY” (09/01/24–08/31/25, $45,667) and Veterans Landscape performed “FT LOGAN NATIONAL CEMETERY - TREE MAINTENANCE SERVICES” (05/01/25–09/30/25, $29,477). The current scope’s activities—tree removal, pruning/trimming, stump removal, and related debris disposal under Certified Arborist oversight—are consistent with these prior tree maintenance services and appear to be a continuation of the same type of work at the same site.
