Freight Management and Operations Analysis Support

The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) supports the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Office of Freight Management and Operations (HOFM). HOFM works to improve goods movement on the U.S. transportation system and across national borders. To advance this mission, HOFM implements national highway freight programs; advances freight research and analysis; assists transportation professionals in improving freight planning practices; and fosters strategic partnerships among different stakeholders. Volpe provides technical support to HOFM in many of these technical areas including strategic program development/ management; knowledge management and tech transfer; and freight research and analysis.
