Description

Storm damage debris removal including: transportation, mulching, and redistribution of vegetation debris; uprooted tree removal, ground repair, and disposal; and crane service.

Background
The U.S. Army Mission & Installation Contracting Command (MICC) is issuing a contract modification for the Fort Eisenhower Directorate of Public Works to address the urgent need for storm damage debris removal following Hurricane Helene.

This hurricane, classified as a Category 4 storm, caused significant destruction at Fort Eisenhower and the Pointes West Army Resort area, leading to blocked roads and widespread power outages. The installation serves as a critical operational hub for various Army and Air Force units, necessitating immediate action to restore functionality and safety.

Work Details
The contract modification will cover the following tasks related to Storm Damage Debris Removal:
1) Transportation of vegetation debris to the designated mulching site on the installation;
2) Mulching of vegetation for volume reduction;
3) Redistribution of mulch throughout the installation;
4) Ground repair where trees were uprooted;
5) Handling and disposal of trees and limbs up to 3 feet in diameter;
6) Crane service for removal of fallen trees or limbs from building structures.
