Background
The Sierra Army Depot, located in Herlong, CA, has a requirement for forced air gas furnaces to support its operations. The goal of this contract is to procure four units of Thermo-Cycler Industries GTR-486 or equivalent furnaces. The Army intends to award one firm-fixed price contract as a result of this solicitation, which will be set aside for small businesses under Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Work Details
The contract requires the delivery of four forced air gas furnaces with the following specifications:

- **Fan Section Module**:
- Full-length hinged access door on the front side for fan and motor accessibility, equipped with locks.
- 1 horsepower totally enclosed motor with a full load nameplate motor amperage rating not exceeding 2.3 amps at 460 V, featuring controlled motor soft start and overload protection.
- Factory mounted control panel with locking cover, supplementary overload protector main switch, burner status operation lights, burner and fan control switches, factory wired control circuits, flexible conduit and plug-in wiring assembly for connection of fan section and heater section.

- **Heat Exchanger Section**:
- Internally insulated heater section.
- Non-condensing stainless steel heat exchanger; primary heat exchanger made of 14 ga. or heavier Type 430 stainless steel; secondary heat exchanger pass made of 14 ga. or heavier Type 430 or Type 409 stainless steel; counterflow design.
- Burner with maximum input capacity up to 400 MbH capable of burning natural gas; complete burner assembly and primary controls classified as independent UL components.
- Burner contained within a factory mounted locking enclosure with hinged front cover for access; enclosure features a 10" diameter combustion air intake on each side.

- **General Unit Specifications**:
- Assembled at the factory, test fired, and adjusted for proper burner operations at factory conditions.
- Shipped on heavy shipping skids protected from weather damage with plastic covering.
- Includes operation and maintenance manual; all necessary hardware for assembly provided.
- Requires a single source of electric current, single connection point for gas piping, and single flue vent connection; an 8" diameter flue connection provided on the burner side with a minimum height of 8'4" above finished floor surface.
- Operates at sound level of 74 db or less.
- All parts carry standard 2-year manufacturer warranty; heat exchanger carries a non-prorated 10-year limited warranty.
