FIRE/BIL: Tree/Brush Removal Agassiz NWR, Middle R   2

Background
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing this solicitation for tree and brush removal at the Agassiz National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) located near Middle River, Minnesota. The goal of this contract is to enhance firebreaks within the refuge by removing woody vegetation, thereby supporting the agency's mission to protect and manage wildlife habitats.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Removal of woody vegetation on levees within Agassiz NWR through mowing/mulching and cut/stump treatments.
2. Specific areas include:
- Area 1: approximately 2.20 miles
- Area 2: approximately 1.81 miles
3. Application of herbicides on stumps with a basal diameter of 4 inches or larger using a mix of 25% triclopyr in 75% Bark Oil Blue, applied within 2 hours of cutting.
4. All work must minimize soil disturbance and prevent the spread of noxious and invasive species.
5. Equipment must be secured on-site and cleaned before and after site entry to avoid contamination.
6. The contractor must notify the FWS Site Manager at least 48 hours before starting work, and it is highly recommended to conduct a site visit prior to bidding.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2025, and must be completed by June 1, 2025.
