Background
The National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) acquires, preserves, stores, and exhibits works of art and artifacts dating from 1775 to the present to meet its mission to document and tell the history of the United States Marine Corps. The NMMC is required to serve as stewards and care for the artifacts in its collection in perpetuity. The NMMC is an accredited museum with the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and adheres to their strict museum standards and ethics.

Work Details
The contract requires a professional fine arts handling company for construction of crates, cleaning and modifying existing NMMC crates, packing/crating, uncrating and transportation of crated and boxed artwork artifacts, deinstallation and reinstallation of historic artifacts and works of art from the collection of the NMMC which are currently on display at a Historic House located in Washington, D.C. The work also includes providing custom storage crates, packing, uncrating, transportation of crated and boxed artifacts and works of art, movement and transport of crates to and from conservators and the NMMC Storage Facility (MSF). The offeror will be provided access to the Historic House within 30 days of contract award.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is from 30 June 2022 to 29 June 2023.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at a Historic House located in Washington, D.C.
