Fiber Optic Installation

Installation of three new fiber optic point-to-point connections existing through underground conduit pathway. Supply and install a 144 count single mode fiber cable from building 100 to building 120 (approx. 1000 ft). Leave old 12 strand multi-mode fiber in place for IDS system use. Cut-over communications connections to new fiber. Supply and install a 144 count single mode fiber cable from building 100 to building 142 (approx. 2000 ft). Remove old 72 strand single mode fiber once new fiber is in place and terminated. Hot swap connections from old fiber to new fiber. Supply and install a 144 count single mode fiber cable from building 142 to building 120 (approx. 1800 ft). Remove old 12 strand single mode fiber. Splice at least 48 of the 144 fibers at each termination point. Label each termination location and label the cable at each panel with the distant end location. Install fiber patch panels at each termination point including an extra panel in building 100 to re-terminate all buildings fiber connections terminating in building 100. Transfer all existing connections to new fiber patch panel. Coordinate downtime with local communications POCs before transferring or hot swapping any fiber. All connectors will meet existing Air Force requirements. Provide fiber certification and test results, fiber routing paths, and fiber assignment details at the end of the project. Fiber should provide 10 GB data rate. Requesting 10-year warranty on fiber cable and connections and 90 day maintenance contract for any immediate issues after project completion.
