FENCE INSTALLATION AND GATE SYSTEM
Background
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is issuing this Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the installation of a perimeter security fence system at the Columbia River Research Laboratory (CRRL) located in Willard, Washington.

The goal of this contract is to enhance the security of the facility by establishing a clear boundary and controlled access points for vehicles, personnel, and emergency services. The current lack of adequate perimeter security necessitates this installation to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete design, procurement, installation, and testing of a perimeter security fence system that includes approximately 1,630 linear feet of 7-foot high black vinyl-coated chain link fencing with barbed wire topping.

The project scope includes:
- Installation of one 24-foot automated sliding gate with an electronic access control system.
- Installation of two 24-foot manual swinging gates (double gates meeting in the middle).
- Installation of one heavy-duty pedestrian man gate at the main entrance adjacent to the automated sliding gate.
- Site preparation including clearing vegetation and obstacles, staking proposed corners and gate locations, and running string lines for approval.
- Fence post installation using galvanized steel pipe set in concrete footings.
- Installation of gate operators and access control systems following applicable standards such as ASTM specifications and local building codes.

The contract period of performance is from July 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026.

The construction projects will be performed at the Columbia River Research Laboratory located at 201 Oklahoma Road, Willard, Washington 98605.
