FCI Danbury- Replace Compound Doors   2

Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons is issuing this solicitation for the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) located in Danbury, Connecticut. The goal of the contract is to replace compound doors at the facility, ensuring compliance with security and strength standards as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).

The agency intends to award a single contract based on past performance and lowest price, emphasizing the importance of cost-effective proposals.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for replacing various compound doors at FCI Danbury according to the specifications in the SOW. The project includes:
1. Removal of existing two single doors and three double doors.
2. Installation of two single doors and three double doors.
3. All doors, frames, jambs, and installation must meet current Bureau of Prisons Technical Design Guidelines for strength and security.

Specific locations for door replacements include:
- Housing Unit K-A: double door
- Special Housing Unit (SHU): double door
- Food Service: double door
- Housing Unit M-A: single door
- Food Service: single door.

Materials required include detention hollow metal doors with specific construction criteria such as a thickness of 2 inches, 12-gauge face sheets, continuous welding on seams, and appropriate coatings for high humidity areas.

Period of Performance
The expected dates of delivery and performance are from August 2024 to September 2024. The contractor must begin work within ten calendar days upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed, with the contract period effective from the date of award to no later than thirty days after Notice to Proceed.

The work will be performed at FCI Danbury located at 33 ½ Pembroke Road, Danbury, CT 06811.
