The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) located in Danbury, Connecticut, is seeking a responsible contractor to replace camp doors as outlined in this solicitation. The goal of the contract is to ensure the installation of secure and compliant doors that meet the Bureau of Prisons' Technical Design Guidelines for strength and security.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish and provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to acquire, demolish, transport, and install new metal frames, doors, and accessories at FCI Danbury. Specific tasks include:
1. Removal of existing doors and frames including all components such as metal framing, glasses, anchors, and masonry block.
2. Installation of three new double doors at specified locations:
- Door #1: East side (Main entrance door - Lakeside), 6’-0”x7’-0” double door with vision safety glass.
- Door #2: West side (Entrance from Camp message center), consisting of one small inactive door (2-0’x7-0’) with a flush dead bolt and vision light glass; active door (6-0’x7-0’) with vision light glass.
- Door #3: North side (Entrance from Warehouse), 6-0’x7-0’ double door with vision safety glass.
3. Installation must comply with BOP Technical Design Guidelines including specifications for detention hollow metal doors and frames made from commercial-quality cold-rolled steel that meets ASTM A366 standards.
4. All installations must be performed by skilled workmen following American Welding Society standards.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin work within ten (10) calendar days upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and is expected to complete the project within thirty (30) calendar days thereafter. The anticipated performance period is from November 2024 to December 2024.
