FCI Berlin FY24 Outside Comprehensive Medical Services August MOD 00001

Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), part of the Department of Justice, is responsible for the care and custody of federal inmates. The BOP has determined that the procurement of comprehensive medical services (CMS) for the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Berlin, New Hampshire, meets the criteria for other than full and open competition due to the unique qualifications of the incumbent contractor, Integrated Medical Services (IMS). This decision is made to prevent serious injury or financial liabilities to the institution.

Work Details
The contract involves the acquisition and continuation of community and institution-based comprehensive medical services. The services required include essential medical, dental, and mental health services for federal inmates. When medical needs arise that cannot be addressed by institutional staff, referrals are made to community-based providers.

Specific services include:
- Inpatient/Outpatient Facility and Physician services
- Outpatient Institution Services including Optometry.

The procurement will be conducted via purchase orders at previously agreed Medicare benchmark rates.
