FBI Pistol RFI

Background
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is conducting market research to gather information regarding pistols. This requirement includes duty pistols in various sizes (full-size, compact, and sub-compact/micro), training pistols (both inert and man-marking), and replacement parts. The information collected may be used to formulate final requirements for a potential future Request for Proposal (RFP). The FBI seeks input from pistol manufacturers to help shape these requirements.

Work Details
The FBI is seeking the following types of pistols:

1. Duty Pistols:
- Full-size: Barrel length between 4.26” and 5.20”, minimum magazine capacity of 17 rounds.
- Compact: Barrel length between 3.75” and 4.25”, minimum magazine capacity of 15 rounds.
- Sub-compact/micro: Barrel length between 3.25” and 3.74”, minimum magazine capacity of 10 rounds.

2. Training Pistols:
- Inert: A deactivated pistol with full articulation, dimensionally consistent with the Compact-sized Duty Pistol, incapable of firing live cartridges.
- Man-marking: Designed to fire non-lethal training cartridges, also dimensionally consistent with the Compact-sized Duty Pistol.

3. Replacement Parts: All individual components used within each firearm must be available on contract, including adaptor plates for mounting optics.

General Requirements:
- Primary manufacturer of the pistols.
- Rigorous quality control measures.
- Striker fired, magazine fed, impact-safe, drop-safe, corrosion resistant.
- Must accommodate a wide range of hand sizes without defined finger grooves.

Place of Performance
The information gathered may lead to products being delivered to various FBI locations as determined by future solicitations.
