Background
The Blackrock Ranger District is seeking farrier services for the maintenance of horses and mules as part of its operational needs. The contract aims to provide essential hoof care for up to 37 horses and 2 draft horses, with options to include additional animals in subsequent years. This service is crucial for the agency's mission to maintain the health and readiness of its equine assets.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing farrier services including shoeing and trimming for a total of 37 horses/mules and 2 draft horses. The base year includes four shoeing sessions per horse/mule, with potential additional trips if options are exercised. The tasks include:
- Shoe and trim 37 horses/mules and 2 draft horses, with half shoeing and trimming authorized at half rates.
- Provide up to 10 additional horse/mule services in increments of 5 if options are exercised.
- A $200 surcharge applies for less than four head per trip, except for warranty work.
- The contractor must ensure that all specifications are met without substitutions unless approved through an SF30 amendment.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on September 1, 2024, and continue through August 31, 2025, with options to extend annually for four additional years until August 31, 2029.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Blackrock Ranger Station located at 20250 East Hwy 26/287, Moran, WY 83013.
