Background
The Fargo Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is issuing a solicitation for surgical instrument maintenance and repair services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of surgical instruments used in medical procedures, aligning with the standards set by various health organizations and regulations. This contract supports the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide high-quality healthcare to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will provide preventative maintenance (PM) and repair services for surgical instruments, including case carts, as part of the Surgical Processing Service (SPS). Key tasks include:
- Providing an online digital inventory system to track instrument repair status and requests.
- Performing preventative maintenance through inspection of entire trays and ensuring repairs align with original manufacturers' specifications.
- Conducting repairs on individual instruments identified as non-functional during inspections.
- Ensuring compliance with CDC regulations, HSPA, AORN Standards, APIC, ANSI, and AAMI.
- Sharpening, adjusting, aligning, straightening, calibrating instruments, and removing rust or debris.
- Providing detailed inspections for disassemblable instruments and conducting diagnostic testing for rigid telescopes.
- Performing onsite monthly repairs for unscheduled needs and same-day PM services for critical sets.
- Maintaining records of all repairs and updates via the digital tracker including device product numbers, descriptions, serial numbers, and QR code assignments.
- Repairing closed surgical case carts on-site including latch and caster replacements.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026 with options to extend for additional periods up to five years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Fargo Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 2101 Elm Street North, Fargo ND 58102.
