Falconry Services at MCRD San Diego, CA.   2

Background
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest, Facilities Engineering Acquisition Division Miramar, has a requirement for Falconry Services to be performed at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) located in San Diego, California.

The goal of this contract is to provide effective management and services to deter nuisance birds, specifically seagulls, which can interfere with recruit training activities.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary to perform hazing/harassing activities against nuisance birds on MCRD San Diego. Specific requirements include:

1) Initial 30 recurring days of harassing activities against nuisance birds followed by an additional twenty-four (24) service calls;
2) Utilize only authorized species of birds for harassment;
3) Evaluate the current nuisance bird situation and provide a written plan within seven (7) days from award;
4) Maintain a weekly log of activities performed;
5) Provide a monthly report on the effects of harassing activities and recommendations for further actions;
6) No intentional taking of any bird without government approval;
7) Coordinate with San Diego Airport Authority as required;
8) Proper disposal of dead birds according to California regulations.

Services must be provided during normal hours (0800-1600), Monday through Friday, with availability for after-hours service as needed.

Period of Performance
The base period of performance is anticipated to begin on April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026, with four (4) one-year option periods for a total duration of five (5) years or sixty (60) months.

Place of Performance
The primary place of performance shall be at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), San Diego, California.
