Description

The Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center (Houston, TX) requires the following: Facility Wide Lynx Duress Notification System Upgrade and Expansion Services. The existing Lynx Duress Notification System must be upgraded and expanded to meet the needs of Police Service. Such an initiative requires an upgrade to the existing hardware and infrastructure at the main facility located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030, expansion of this hardware at designated locations, and extension of this system to its 13 Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in the surrounding area. Background
The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX, is seeking to upgrade and expand its existing Lynx Duress Notification System to enhance the capabilities of its Police Service. This initiative is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and infrastructure at the facility.

The upgrade aims to provide comprehensive coverage and utilize the latest panic alarm and duress notification features available from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for upgrading the existing hardware and infrastructure at the main facility located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030. The scope includes:
1. Upgrading the current Lynx Duress Notification System to meet Police Service needs.
2. Expanding hardware installations at designated locations within the main facility.
3. Extending the system to 13 Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in the surrounding area.
4. Providing all necessary labor, materials, parts, repairs, equipment, tools, onsite/remote monitoring, professional services, technical support, transportation, software, personnel, and travel required for installation and deployment.
5. Ensuring compliance with OEM requirements and maintaining functionality of all components post-installation.
6. Replacing legacy panic alarm buttons with new installations in critical areas such as nurse’s stations and waiting rooms.
7. Installing wireless panic buttons in specific clinics and configuring them appropriately.
8. Integrating with existing physical security systems including Open Option DNA Fusion Physical Access Control System and Avigilon CCTV systems.

Period of Performance
The expected performance period for this acquisition is not to exceed one year following the start date of performance by the contractor.

The contract will be performed primarily at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030, as well as at its 13 Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in the surrounding area.
