Description

This request for proposal (RFQ) solicitation # 12505B25Q0036 is for Facility Gates Semi-Annual Preventative Maintenance Inspection in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW) provided in the Attachments/Links section. The associated NAICS is 561210 (Facilities Support Services) with a small business size standard of under $47 Million. The applicable PSC is H999 (Other QC/Test/Inspect - Miscellaneous). This solicitation is issued as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside.

Background
The USDA's National Centers for Animal Health (NCAH) is seeking a contractor to provide a semi-annual preventative maintenance program for security gates located at their campus in Ames, Iowa. The contract aims to ensure the operational integrity and safety of 24 slide gate style security gates, which are essential for the facility's security operations.

Work Details
The contractor will perform semi-annual preventative maintenance inspections on the security gates, specifically one inspection in April and another in October. The tasks include:
- Inspecting and greasing the truck assembly and drive track.
- Tightening any loose roller wheel set bolts.
- Checking the drive track for damage.
- Inspecting posts for looseness.
- Checking for loose or missing clamps, bolts, broken welds, and gate mesh ties.
- Installing 'Danger Automated Gate' signs if needed.
- Verifying control board operating voltage and ensuring proper power supply to gate operators.
- Inspecting door/cover locks for functionality.
- Checking gear box oil levels and adding oil if low.
- Inspecting shafts, sprockets, bearings, and clutch assemblies for functionality.
