Fabrication of Liquid Hydrogen Vacuum Jacketed Supply Section for Cell 7

Background
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Glenn Research Center is seeking a contractor for the fabrication of a vacuum-jacketed liquid hydrogen (LH2) supply system for Cell 7. The goal of this contract is to design, fabricate, test, deliver, and commission a system that safely transfers LH2 while maintaining cryogenic temperatures and minimizing boil-off losses. This procurement is set aside for small businesses.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- Design vacuum-jacketed piping and components to ASME B31.12 standards.
- Procure materials including vacuum-jacketed piping, cryogenic globe valves, actuators, fittings, and specified ports for instrumentation.
- Fabricate piping assemblies with inner and outer jackets and perform vacuum insulation and sealing.
- Provide two liquid hydrogen compatible globe valves with actuators rated for -423°F with a flow coefficient of at least Cv=8.3, including positioner transmitters.
- Conduct testing in compliance with ASME B31.12 including hydrostatic testing at 1.5x design pressure, vacuum retention tests for at least 7 days, and leak testing of 1x10^(-8) CC/s.
