Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this contract for tree removal and stump grinding services at the Grafton National Cemetery. The mission of the National Cemetery Administration is to honor veterans and their families with final resting places in national shrines. This contract aims to ensure the maintenance and safety of the cemetery grounds by removing dead trees and grinding stumps, thereby preserving the dignity and respect of the burial sites.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary for tree removal and stump grinding services at Grafton National Cemetery. The specific tasks include:

(1) Removal of one (1) dead tree located in the bottom section/tier of the cemetery;

(2) Grinding of tree stumps to a minimum depth of 4 inches below soil level or to lateral roots;

(3) Thorough cleaning up of all debris generated from tree removal and pruning on a daily basis;

(4) Pruning of deadwood limbs that pose risks;

(5) Filling stump cavities with clean topsoil and seeding with a specified grass mixture;

(6) Ensuring no damage occurs to headstones or surrounding property during operations;

(7) Compliance with utility line regulations when applicable;

(8) Coordination with cemetery activities to minimize disruption during burials.

Period of Performance
All work must be completed within thirty (30) days after receipt of notice of contract award.
