SVC: Asbestos Abatement

Background
The Lake City VA Medical Center, located at 619 S. Marion Ave, Lake City, FL 32025, has an urgent service requirement for asbestos abatement and/or remediation. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe removal of asbestos-containing materials to protect the health and safety of the facility's occupants and staff.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all parts, labor, materials, services, and supervision to perform abatement and/or remediation of spaces located in OIT AB18-64. This includes removal of debris, black mastic, and disinfecting the building surfaces. Specific tasks include:
- Removal of approximately 80 square feet of existing floor tile and approximately 764 square feet of existing glue and black mastic located in AB-18.
- Provision and use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in designated spaces requiring abatement.
- Disposal of all debris using appropriate procedures for handling asbestos-containing materials.
- Implementation of appropriate barrier containment as defined in the Infection Control Risk Assessment, which must be inspected prior to work commencement.
- Creation of a negative pressure containment area with negative air machines, barriers, manometers, and sticky mats for entry/exit. The space must remain under negative pressure until work is completed and signed off on.
- Cleaning and clearing the site of all material and debris upon completion of work, including containment.
- Provision of waste removal receipts for Safety Service to Lake City VAMC.
- Compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations, guidelines, and ordinances. Required documentation of licenses and certifications must be provided.
