Background
The United States Air Force is issuing a Justification and Approval (J&A) for a contract to repair and overhaul the F101 Digital Electronic Control (DEC). This acquisition is necessary to meet the agency's needs for maintaining operational readiness of the B-1B aircraft. The contract will be awarded on a sole source basis to UTC Aerospace Systems, dba Hamilton Sundstrand, due to their unique capabilities in providing the required services.

Work Details
The contract encompasses the following tasks and services:

1. Repair and overhaul of the F101 Digital Electronic Control (DEC), which includes restoring failed units to serviceable condition.

2. The DEC controls all engine functions in primary mode, converting electronic signals into digital form and transmitting them to the aircraft's computer.

3. The service will involve handling various input part numbers (P/N) including 1961M82P01, 1961M82PO02, 1961M82P04, 1000270-1-001, 1000270-1-002, and 1000270-1-004, with output P/N including 1961M82P04 and 1000270-1-004.

4. The contractor will also address 'No Fault Found' (NFF) scenarios as part of the service. The estimated total value of this award is $3,854,003.65.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a basic performance period from July 31, 2024, to July 30, 2025, with four one-year options extending through July 30, 2029.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
