Background
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - Region 5, intends to issue a contract on a noncompetitive basis to CH2M Hill Inc for Remedial Action (RA) at the Velsicol Burn pit superfund site OU1 in St. Louis, Michigan. CH2M Hill, Inc is responsible for the design of the treatment center, implementing and operating the remedy for the remedial action.

Work Details
CH2M Hill, Inc has a unique ability to meet schedule requirements based on the fact of the current infrastructure at the adjacent site. The company's current infrastructure for the ISTT RA at the adjacent Former Plant Site includes a multi-million-dollar treatment system for contaminated vapor and groundwater. CH2M Hill, Inc is responsible for the technical studies and engineering designs for the remedial action to be completed at this site; no other source is available to meet the needs of the Environmental Protection Agency for this requirement.

Period of Performance
Work must begin as soon as possible in order to continue the ongoing cleanup of the superfund site OU1. The mobilization of the current infrastructure is approximately 12 weeks.
