Description

RIRIE MITIGATION CONTRACT
Background
The Ririe Mitigation Contract is issued by the Bureau of Reclamation, specifically the Pacific Northwest Region, with the goal of managing and maintaining wildlife habitats affected by the construction of Teton Dam and Ririe Dam in eastern Idaho. The contract aims to support the Tex Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and Cartier Slough WMA, which were established to mitigate for wildlife habitats adversely impacted by these dams. The Department has invested over $7 million to secure and manage additional lands for wildlife conservation.

Work Details
The Contractor shall:

1) Adopt and enforce rules for Tex Creek and Cartier Slough WMAs to protect health and safety, preserve law and order, and protect resources.

2) Ensure land use conforms to applicable Federal laws.

3) Manage, operate, and maintain Lands in accordance with cooperative agreements and Reclamation’s management plans.

4) Maintain all habitats in good repair as determined by annual inspections.

5) Construct or alter public use facilities with prior authorization from Reclamation.

6) Protect safety from hazardous materials.

Specific tasks include:

a) Submit an annual work plan by March 31 for managing WMAs;

b) Monitor existing wildlife habitat and report findings;

c) Preserve existing wildlife habitat to meet standards;

d) Expand wildlife habitats with monitoring reports.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from October 16, 2025, to October 15, 2030, with options for additional years based on performance evaluations.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Tex Creek Wildlife Management Area and Cartier Slough WMA located in Bonneville County, Idaho.
