BLM Western OR Wildlife Surveys IDIQ   2

Background
This requirement is for a Western Oregon Wildlife Surveys Indefinite Delivery Multiple Award Indefinite Quantity contract for Red Tree Vole, Northern Spotted Owl, and Marbled Murrelet wildlife surveys on Western Oregon BLM districts, including Coos Bay District, Lakeview District, Medford District, Northwest Oregon District, and Roseburg District.

Work Details
The Contractor shall conduct surveys to locate Marbled Murrelet (Brachyramphus marmoratus) from survey stations and conduct intensive surveys to locate Marbled Murrelet in survey areas on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in western Oregon. The objective is to document the occurrence or probable absence of Marbled Murrelet in forest stands by conducting intensive surveys according to the Pacific Seabird Group (PSG) Protocol.

The Contractor shall also conduct field surveys according to the 2012 revision of the 'Protocol for Surveying Proposed Management Activities that may Impact Northern Spotted Owls' (2012 NSO Protocol) as described in the specific tasks by BLM. The objectives include determining occupancy status, color band identification, nesting and reproductive status of northern spotted owls (Strix occidentalis caurina) (NSO). Some task orders may require deployment of Acoustic Recording Units (ARU) and or processing sound file data acquired from ARUs. In addition, documenting detections of barred owls (Strix varia) and other species as identified in the pre-work meeting shall be required.
