Blm Veterinary Services Contract - Winnemucca NV   3

Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) manages off-range corral facilities throughout the U.S. The primary mission of these facilities is to act as holding and preparation facilities for Wild Horses and Burros (WH&Bs) from gather/removal operations, preparing them for adoption or placement into off-range pastures. The expected number of horses over the next 5 years at Winnemucca facility is between approximately 500 head to a maximum capacity of 4,000 head. The Wild Horse and Burro program can be subject to national scrutiny from horse advocacy groups and individuals.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide routine veterinary services on an as-needed basis at the Winnemucca Wild Horse Facility located @ 9145 101 Ranch Rd Winnemucca NV 89445, approximately 28.5 miles North East of Winnemucca in the Paradise Valley area. The contract veterinarian shall be responsible for performing veterinary duties associated with the facility, including providing relief/backup veterinarians during flexible gather schedules. The workload will vary seasonally with peak activity occurring between July and April, sometimes requiring services seven days a week. The contractor must be able to provide a veterinarian to the facility within one hour of notification.

Period of Performance
The contract period includes a base period starting from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, with four option periods extending to September 30, 2028.

The contract will be performed at the Winnemucca Wild Horse Facility located @ 9145 101 Ranch Rd Winnemucca NV 89445.
